Stefano Sbordoni is a lawyer with unrivaled experience in the field of gambling and betting law, both in Italy and internationally.
Stefano Sbordoni is a Supreme Court attorney-at-law. He teaches tax law on gaming at the University of Salerno and is former professor of information technology law at Tuscia University (2007-2014). He lectures at the Higher School of Economics and Finance and has taught courses on public concessionaires at the University of Malta. Mr Sbordoni supports the Autonomous Administration of the State Monopolies on administrative law matters pertaining to the field of gaming and betting. He acts as a consultant to the main Italian and foreign gambling operators. During his many years of experience he has dealt with, among other matters, the standardisation of Bingo, the reorganisation of the gaming sector through public tendering, the privatisation of instant lotteries, and the commercialisation of games and lotteries in more than 40 countries worldwide. He is an expert in reinsurance and was an underwriter of aviation in Rome and London, and of the treaty and excess of loss account at Unione UK in London. He advises leading
international reinsurance companies, as well as an Italian portfolio of managers of leading international insurance companies. His firm services contract disputes in Italy, UK, and overseas. He is a regular speaker at major conferences on gambling and betting in Italy and worldwide, especially those organised by government agencies and the Autonomous Administration of State Monopolies. Mr Sbordoni is the author of the monographs Giochi concessi e giochi on line, published in March 2010, and Web libertà e diritto, published in February 2014, by the Italian National Printing Institute. He wrote the Italian chapters in many editions of the Internet Gambling Report. He has published articles for the Academy of European Law, and has contributed to numerous handouts for courses at the School of Economics and Finance. Mr Sbordoni is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law, member and responsible for the research of the Osservatorio Internazionale sul Gioco, and secretary general of major trade union association of gaming retailers, UTIS. He is a registered journalist and cooperates with major specialist publications in the field of gambling in Italy including TS, Jamma, Agipro, GiocoNews, plus Atlante (economy and sustainable development company) and TechNet (IT specialis).
