Mikkel Taanum is a senior associate in the Copenhagen office of Bird & Bird. Mikkel is part of the Global Gambling Group in Bird & Bird and he heads up the Nordic Gambling team in Bird & Bird, covering all the Nordics. Mikkel has worked in the gambling sector since 2010 and is one of the leading experts on gambling regulation in Denmark. Mikkel has been actively involved in connection with the preparation of the Danish gambling legislation, advising clients in relation to lobbying the Danish legislator. Mikkel advise licensed operators, platform providers, affiliates and other relevant parties on gaming law in Denmark and Sweden, including the complicated license application process and issues relating to international transactions and handling of the transfer of licenses in this regard. Mikkel has authored several articles and has co-authored the Danish chapter in the International Comparative Legal Guide on gambling.
