Sherene Fernando

Sherene Fernando leads RGC’s Advisory Services team, with over 14 years of specialized expertise in responsible gambling. Her diverse portfolio encompasses strategy and policy development, comprehensive program reviews, as well as the design, development, and evaluation of training programs. Sherene has contributed to problem gambling prevention campaigns, various RGC research projects, and helped operators implement recommendations to improve staff engagement, informed player decisions, and organizational RG culture. She has conducted numerous evaluations of RG programs globally, spanning across various sectors such as casino gaming, ticket lotteries, video lotteries, sports betting, horse racing, and bingo, both in physical establishments and online platforms. 

Sherene is a double alumnus of the University of Western Ontario, holding an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Physiology & Psychology and a Master’s degree in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience. With an unwavering dedication to RG principles, Sherene Fernando stands at the forefront of RG education and transformation efforts, championing the creation of safer and more responsible gambling environments.
