Maarja is head of compliance of the Omni Matrix Group, a fintech operating in payments, which also includes Kyros AML – the proprietary compliance tool for customer and transaction monitoring. Maarja is a lawyer that has mainly worked in EU regulatory, financial services (including crypto), ESG and competition and state aid law. She is a member of the Estonian Bar Association and the Bar of England and Wales. Most recently she worked at the Estonian office of the law firm Eversheds Sutherland. Before joining private practice she worked at the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications for the Estonian EU Council Presidency and later for the government CIO.
